For All Teachers In The Summer 2012 Energy, Astronomy, And Plate Tectonics Workshops.

Your attendance and participation at all three meetings is REQUIRED. 
Please reserve these dates on your calendar.

Fri./Sat., October 12-13, 2012

All participants will gather in Media, PA, for the Pennsylvania Earth Science Teachers Association (PAESTA) conference.  Participants from all three workshops will meet on Friday evening for a screening of the documentary Switch, addressing energy awareness and efficiency for the future, and meet on Saturday for the PAESTA conference.  Both events will take place at the Penn State Brandywine campus.  Friday evening hotel accommodations will be provided for teachers from outside of the Philadelphia region, and meeting registration is free for workshop participants.

Saturday, January 12, 2013

Participants will attend the meeting located closest to where they live.  Meetings will be held in State College (Penn State University Park), Media (Penn State Brandywine), and Reading (Penn State Berks).  The meetings will run 9AM to Noon.

The goal of the meeting is to revisit formative assessment, claims/evidence/reasoning, and approaches to Earth and space science instruction.

Participants will attend the meeting located closest to where they live.  Meetings will be held in State College (Penn State University Park), Media (Penn State Brandywine), and Reading (Penn State Berks).  The meetings will run 9AM to Noon.

The goal of the meeting is to share the classroom successes and challenges of instructing students during the past year in Earth and space science content with innovative approaches.  The meeting will also address maintaining local professional community connections.

You will be emailed a RSVP form to confirm your attendance for the January and May meetings after the PAESTA conference.
